The turkey fryer can be used all year round, of course, lifting your barbecues out of the ordinary and impressing your guests with the beautifully succulent meat it produces. Meat fried in the turkey fryer is lovely and crispy on the outside, while the inside will melt in your mouth. It can be used for beef, lamb, pork, chicken and even fish; in fact, it can be used for anything that requires hot and fast cooking.
Although it is called a turkey fryer, this product can also be used for steaming and boiling other food. It is ideal for cooking large chillies and curries for a party, a heart-warming stew, or vegetables. Turkey fryers are also very popular for steaming lobsters and for cooking authentic New England clam bakes if you feel like trying something a little different.
Originating in the southern states of America, fried turkey became very popular because it was so quick and simple to cook. As the moisture contained in the meat repels the oil, the food is effectively steamed from within by the water it contains being heated by the hot oil. This means that although it is deep fried it is not excessively greasy, as the water vapour pushing towards the surface of the bird prevents the oil being absorbed. In the US peanut oil, which can sustain very high temperatures and is high in polyunsaturated fats, would traditionally be used, meaning that deep frying may be healthier than you think.
Included with the 30 Quart Turkey Fryer Kit is a comprehensive set of tools and all the accessories that you will need to fry your turkey. The actual turkey fryer pot is made of aluminium and comes with a lid and a poultry rack. Also included is the poultry rack grab hook for lowering the meat into the oil and lifting it out at the end of the cooking time, a 12-inch thermometer and a marinade injector. This set also includes a cast iron 9.2kW Foker Gas Burner with three independent valves for full control and heat distribution.
