Whether you are cooking for two, a group of friends, or your entire family, one of the highlights of Christmas is the turkey. For many, roast turkey with all the trimmings is almost as exciting as Santa filling your stocking. However, for many cooks, it is the season of dread rather than goodwill because everyone has such high expectations.

The good news is that festive help is at hand! The nearest thing to one of Santa’s little helpers is the Turkey Roasting Set with four clever utensils that are easy to use.

At the top of the list is the turkey thermometer. Once you have prepared and stuffed your turkey, pop it on the scales and calculate the cooking time, allowing 20 minutes per 500g at 180°C/356°F/ Gas 4. To check that the turkey is cooked, simply pierce the thigh at the thickest part; if the juices run clear, pop the thermometer in at the same place. 85°C/185°F is the safe temperature that indicates the bird is cooked.

Stuffing the turkey can be a messy job, but it is made much easier with the cotton stuffing bag in the Turkey Roasting Set! Fill the bag with homemade or store-bought stuffing. The bag expands to fit any amount of stuffing. Simply fasten the filled bag and pop it into the turkey cavity. When you dish up, just spoon the stuffing onto individual plates or into a serving dish.

Keeping the stuffing bag in place couldn’t be easier. The metal turkey laces have been cleverly designed for this purpose. Made of stainless steel, the six pins and lacing can be easily used to keep the stuffing in place throughout cooking.

Lifting the turkey from the roasting tin to a serving plate is easier said than done, especially if it is a large turkey. The turkey lifting cord is a sling that slips over either end of the turkey so that the turkey cannot accidentally slip. The cord can be left in place because it does not damage carving tools.
