Callow's smoker box is the easiest and cleanest way to add an intense and delicious smoky flavour to your barbecued food.
Gas barbecues are wonderfully convenient but don't leave food with that classic smoky aroma and flavour that you get from cooking over a wood fire or a charcoal barbecue; however you can recreate this effect quite simply by using Callow's smoker box within your gas barbecue.
The box is made in a V shape, which should fit quite easily between the flame deflector bars of most gas barbecues. Remove the barbecue's grill and sit the smoker box in place. Fill the box cavity with wood chips designed for smoking, close the hinged lid, and finally replace the barbecue grill on top. As the barbecue heats the wood chips, they will smoke away and release flavour through the box's perforated lid and into your food. Ashes stay inside the smoker box and can be tipped out once the box is cool to keep your barbecue clean.
For the most intense flavour, cook your meat on the grill directly over the smoker box. Different taste sensations can be created by using different wood chips, such as apple oak, hickory or barbecue oak flavour. The box is reusable ? simply empty out the old wood chips and refill with new ones when you are ready.
The smoker box is made of non-stick, durable metal and is 13 and three-quarter inches long. You can keep it for yourself or it also makes a great gift for barbecue fans.
