There’s nothing as heart-warming as gathering together a group of family and friends round a camp-fire as the sun sets and cooking over an open fire. Many of us may have vivid memories from childhood of using green twigs to hold our marshmallows or bread sticks as they toasted. Those of us that suffered the inevitable scorched fingers can rest easy these days, as the Bon-fire Twist Bread Stick is perfectly designed to produce beautifully cooked bread with ease. The 140cm wooden handle is safe and cool to hold, and the bread dough adheres perfectly to the black enamel pole during the cooking process, but it won’t stick when it comes to removal.
People have been cooking flatbread recipes over open fires for centuries, and it is a great and very communal way to feed a group of campers. Any standard flatbread recipe will produce great results. It is a good idea to roll your dough into strands before twisting it round the bread stick. Maintain a steady distance from the flames as you rotate the bread to make sure that it is golden brown all over. Eat them while they are still warm, either with some butter or as the accompaniment to a rustic stew or casserole. They take just minutes to cook and the result is totally delicious!
