The Callow Charcoal Smoker is a versatile and enjoyable way of cooking outside. As a consequence of its efficiency, it is also quite economical. Americans love barbecuing and have refined the technique to combine low heat, smoking and slow cooking all at the same time resulting in the most succulent results.
The Callow Charcoal Smoker is made up of the Smoker Hood, the Smoker Barrel body, the Smoker bottom bowl and supporting feet. It uses four stainless steel locks to connect it all the components securely together.
It can accommodate larger joints of meat. Despite the extended cooking time, this specific method of smoking or grilling is perfect for ensuring that food does not dry out and remains tasty and tender.
In addition, you can barbecue or grill in the conventional way or use it as an al fresco oven or steamer. To water smoke, place some water in a bowl over the charcoal, scatter wood chips onto the charcoal and then place the food on the grill above the water bowl. This method enables you to slow cook and smoke whilst making sure the food remains moist and full of flavour. Various woods lend food their own flavour so why not experiment with different wood chips?
This stylish Smoker BBQ Grill is packed with features. The dome lid features a high quality temperature gauge for accurately recording the cooking temperature. For improved ventilation the smoker has 4 adjustable air vents in the base and a further 2 in the top to generate good airflow and allow for accurate temperature control. There are also two conveniently located access points for meat thermometer probes all so you can ensure your food is cooked to perfection without removing the lid. The large water pan provides sufficient capacity for 2-3 hours, whilst the fully ventilated charcoal pan affords 5-6 hours duration. Should you need to check or top up either of these pans, a hinged door on the front also allows quick, easy access. When you do need to remove the lid, it will conveniently clip out of the way on one of the handles.

I haven't actually used the product as of yet due to it being a birthday present...but I was really impressed with the firm. I ordered in the morning and about an hour later got a call to say their firm was just around the corner from where I live and they delivered that afternoon!

12 May 2020 by: Gary HutchinsonBeing a ‘as much as possible’ barbecue’er i wanted to try smoking food, having failed doing it in the barbecue as the wood burns off too quick I decided to opt for this upright smoker. Wow the results were fantastic, I cooked a full large chicken and 5 full chicken legs at a constant temperature with occasional topping up of coal and wood, of 140 Celsius in around 4 hours and the whole family loved it. Only slight modification I did was as there is no ash pan I bought a metal colander and after removing the handles it fitted perfect under the wood grill pan, the holes helped the fuel burn still and a lot easier to clean. Only negative is it doesn’t come supplied with an ash pan of some sorts even though it looks like there should be one. Apart from that, fantastic and I am looking forward to experimenting more
Excellent value for money
11 May 2020 by: Amie ChurchmanWe must’ve googled over 50 different smokers and read countless reviews before deciding on this one. We’re just starting out with smoking so wasn’t sure what kind to go for. The size is perfect for us, we’d say you’d be able to smoke enough meat (ribs especially) across the two racks. We’ve done a 1.5kg brisket and 4 king ribs so far on two occasions. Be warned - you will forever be learning with every cook you do. We’ve learnt so much already in just these two cooks. Good point when trying to get the heat back up is leave the door open for a short time, this seems to give it the boost it needs to jump back to the heat we need. Happy smoking.
