I find that letting the smoker to cool down completely before removing the lid keeps any smoke from being released into the kitchen. My only critic is that you can’t smoke a whole chicken because the lid is flat and not domed which would have been perfect
Brilliant Smoker

The smoker arrive promptly and well packaged and after using it for several days these are my personal findings. The fold-away handles for me are cumbersome and get hot due to heat drifting up the side when on a BBQ or gas stove top. To remove the lid, a "D" ring is attached at one end so you can slide it open but you have to securely hold either a handle or get someone to hold the base tray so the lid can be opened safely. I would prefer a 2nd ring attached to the base tray at the other end so when sliding open you have something to pull against. (hope this makes sense) Another slight issue is the lid, when fully closed does not form a complete airtight seal so when on the stove top, smoke escapes into the kitchen. To remedy this, I place aluminium foil around the base tray and lid which forms a seal. Please bare in mind these are my personal comments and I would certainly recommend this product to anyone contemplating a food smoking journey.

The smoker is very substantial heavy duty metal and a bigger than I thought it would be, which is good. The instructions are the bear minimum but there are loads of Youtube vids so not too much of a problem. It impressed a friend who is going to buy one for his daughter for Christmas. Can't wait to try it with my bumper crop of chillies and peppers.
